A compact reflection nebula of vdB26 positions at 1.4 degrees northwest of mu Tau, forming a forefoot of the Bull in higher winter skies. The central star illuminating the nebula is a blue giant of magnitude 6.2. The nebula has a span of about 8 arc minutes and is estimated as 500 light years away. The field where the nebula is floating corresponds to the outer part of a vast molecular cloud around the Orion known as the "Orion-Eridanus super bubble".
