Sh2-245 is an extraordinary dimmed emission nebula lying western Taurus towards northern Eridanus.
This image has captured a span of about 15×19 degrees, shows that the Sh2-245 is a stripe-shaped nebula with a length of over 20 degrees in north-south direction.
The nebula is a part of bow-shock of the "Orion-Eridanus super bubble" formed by plural supernova explosions occurred around Orion.
With the ultraviolet radiation from the Orion OB1 association, the nebula is ionized and emitting reddish H-alpha light.
You can see that lower glimmering molecular clouds are floating in almost all field of this image and intertwining with Sh2-245 elaborately.
The major region of the Sh2-245, stretched part in north south direction has further extended nebulosity in southern part which has been divided in east and west directions and greatly curved.
Maybe you can detect that the whole shape of Sh2-245 looks like a cursive letter of "i".
