This image shows you three dimmed supernova remnants positioned in the Auriga's pentagon.
A vast curve-shaped one in lower right hand side is Sh2-223, a bit smaller one in upper left hand side has an ID of Sh2-224.
Sh2-223 has been positioned about 3 degrees southeast of Capella, its length extends to about a degree. Sh2-224, lying at 2 degrees northeast of Sh2-223,
has an elongated shape with a long axis of about 30 arc minutes.
You can display an emphasized red channel of color image by clicking on a button in upper right hand of this page. Perhaps you can trace figures of two remnants clearly in the image.
Sh2-224 has been made from two dense curved loops in northwest and southeast.
There is an extraordinary faint line-shaped nebula in west,
it's considered that the thin line corresponds to a bow shock of supernova explosion.
