This image captures the faint Hα nebulae and open star clusters scattered around μAur, which is located 7.5 degrees south of Capella in the pentagon of Auriga.
Sh2-227 is a nebula with an apparent diameter of over 20 arc minutes in the upper left.
It is almost circular, and you can see that there is unevenness inside.
You can see a small open cluster of NGC1857 in 0.5 degrees north of the nebula, about 40 member stars have been gathered in 5 arc minutes in diameter.
The cluster looks unexpectedly striking because of its high star density.
Small red nebulae are located in the lower right of the field. Sh2-226 is 2 arc minutes in size, and Sh2-228, which is visible 45 arc minutes southeast of it,
is the most photographable of these nebulae and has an extension of about 8 arc minutes.
A little reddish nebula less than 1 degree to the east is IC2120, which is about 1 minute in size.
Although the detailed structure is not clear in this picture, it has been classified as a planetary nebula.
