This is a small reflection nebula located in the eastern part of Canis Major. It can be found approximately 3.5 degrees northeast of δ Canis Majoris. It spans over 10 arc minutes from east to west and is believed to reflect the light of a 7th magnitude star visible on the right side of the nebula. Although somewhat faint, the northern part of the nebula is accompanied by the dark nebula LDN 1660. Its distance from the solar system is estimated to be 4900 light-years.
