This is a faint spiral galaxy located 4.5 degrees south of γ Ursae Majoris, one of the stars forming the Big Dipper. Although it has a brightness of 11th magnitude, its spiral structure is indistinct, and it has not been assigned an NGC number. It is floating at a distance of 55 million light-years and belongs to the Ursa Major southern galaxy group.
