In southwest part of Scutum, Sh2-53 is a 15 arc minutes-sized Hα emission nebula at 1.7° northwest of γSct. We can find out a large-scale reddish nebula of Sh2-54 just northwest, the nebula can be captured in the same flame of Sh2-54. Sh2-53 consists of five or six small portions; actually, some dark lanes have divided the reddish nebula and we see such an appearance.
