This image captures two faint Hα nebulae located in the southwestern corner of the constellation Scutum. In the upper right of the frame, the diffused nebula M16 (the Eagle Nebula) in Serpens can be seen. On the right side of the frame is Sh2-48, and located 45 minutes east of it is Sh2-50. Their sizes are 10 and 20 arcminutes, respectively. Although they appear adjacent to each other, their actual distances differ by more than twice.
