NGC6940 is an open cluster of about a hundred stars, found at about 4 degrees SW of the veil nebula in Cygnus. The cluster is unexpectedly striking because it's positioned in front of dark nebula in summer's Milky Way. You can appreciate the cluster with faint stars gathering dense in semicircle; it'll be a splendid view.
The cluster is about 9400 light years away from the solar system.
