Around the middle of Scorpion's body, NGC6281 is a large-sized open cluster about 2.5 degrees east from mu Sco. The cluster has a diameter of a degree but no bright member stars. You can appreciate fine stars distributed in doughnut like shape. It might be fairly difficult to see the cluster under good conditioned sky because of lower height of meridian transit.
