NGC5566 is a barred galaxy in east region of Virgo. The galaxy has a long axis of a bit smaller than 7 arc minutes and a visual brightness of 11th magnitude. NGC5566 has a characteristic "S-shaped" figure warped by gravitational interaction of companion galaxies of NGC5569 in northeast and NGC5660 in northwest. And NGC5566 has an indistinct dark lane crossing it.
