This image captures a small spiral galaxy seen in the western part of Bootes. It is located 4.4 degrees southwest of γ Bootis, with an apparent size of just over 4 arcminutes and a brightness of magnitude 12.7. It is classified as a tightly wound spiral, and in this photograph its detailed structure appears indistinct. The galaxy lies at a distance of roughly 170 million light-years and forms a small galaxy group together with nearby galaxies.
