NGC5297 is a small spiral galaxy located about 11 degrees northeast of Col Caroli in the constellation Canes Venatici. The galaxy has a major axis of a little over 5 arc minutes and a brightness of 12.5 mag. NGC5297 is not a conspicuous one, but a faint spiral structure can be seen in this image. NGC5296, a companion galaxy with a size of an arc minute, is located just southwest of the galaxy. They form a small group of galaxies with surrounding small members and is estimated to be about 110 million light years away.
