A small spiral galaxy of NGC5247 is lying at about 8 degrees SSE of Spica, alpha Virgo. The galaxy has a shape of one of typical face-on galaxies, and apparent diameter of a bit larger than 5 arc minutes. You can show two clear arms fairly wound up in this picture. The galaxy has a comparatively bright with 10th magnitude, you can recognize the spiral structures through a medium-ranged telescope. A distance from our Galaxy has been estimated about 72 millions light years.
