In southern region of Virgo, you can find out an edge-on galaxy of NGC5170 at about 7 degrees south of Spica. The galaxy has a comparatively long length of over 8 arc minutes, but has a dimmer brightness of 12th magnitude that make it difficult to recognize detailed structures with medium-ranged scope aided eyes. This picture shows you an indistinct dark lane is crossing the bulge. It's estimated that the galaxy is about 96 millions light years away.
