Located approximately 1 degree northwest of γVir (Porrima) is the spiral galaxy NGC4592. However, it is almost entirely edge-on, with little discernible spiral structure. Its east-west major axis measures 5.7 arc minutes, and its brightness is 12.2nd magnitude. Positioned on the southeastern outskirts of the Virgo Cluster, its distance from the Milky Way is estimated to be 38 million light-years.
