The comet Tabur in that day was found at 3 degrees west of Betelgeuse of Orion. The comet had a visual brightness of 5th magnitude and a distance of about 100 million km from the Earth. I could detect no tails but a bluish-greened coma.
At that time the comet Hale-Bopp was lying in evening western skies; we could observe two major comets in one night.
