On this day, the comet Kushida was situated high in the western sky during the evening, just 0.5 degrees east of Aldebaran in the constellation Taurus, and a blue coma of 10th magnitude was observed. The glare visible in the image is a ghost caused by Aldebaran, located just to the right of the field of view. Currently, the comet Kushida has passed its maximum brightness and will continue to dim rapidly as it moves eastward at high speed.
