This image shows you the comet Hale-Bopp reached its visual brightness of 1st magnitude. It was comparatively bad transparency condition. The image has been performed a strong emphasis processing to visualize a bluish ion tail. More, in that day the comet closed to a major planetary nebula of M27 (Dumb-bell Nebula) in 3.5 degrees; I enjoyed a beautiful rendezvous-show. This image has been displayed by turning north direction leftward.
