This is my first observation of comet Hale-Bopp in last four months since Oct 1996. I enjoyed a fan-like yellow dust tail and a bluish ion tail stretched in southwest direction through a portable binocular. The ion tail is spilling out the view flame of a focal length of 530mm. In that day the tail had stretched about 15 degrees.
A orange star just right of the comet is gamma Cap (3.5th magnitude). This image has been displayed by turning north direction leftward.
