I captured the comet Hale-Bopp just rose from the foreground forest with a standard photo lens. Although I could not detect with naked eyes, the image shows that the comet has a long bluish ion tail with a length of about 15 degrees. A reddish nebula in upper part is the North American Nebula (NGC7000) in Cygnus. This field is one of scenic spots in the Milky Way; the comet will travel along the edge of autumnal Milky Way from now on. The Hale-Bopp will have a climax of closest approach to the Earth repeating rendezvous with various nebulae and star clusters, and leave beyond the solar system.
