Comet Encke on early morning of Nov 8, 2013

Optical: VIXEN 20cm(7.9") VISAC with a conversion lens (f=1278mm, F6.4)
with BaaderPlanetarium Moon&Skyglow filter
Auto-guided with TAKAHASHI EM-200 Equatorial
Digital Camera: Canon EOS 600D (Remodeled)
Location: Kujihama, Hitachi city, Ibaraki pref.

Camera Settings: Recording format...14bit CCD-RAW, converted to 16bit TIFF(5184×3456)
Sensitivity...ISO3200


The comet Encke in that day has positioned about 6 degrees southeast of delta Vir. The comet is closing to the sun, will be unobsevable after the middle of Nov 2013. The elevation of the comet in the day at start of twilight was only about 10 degrees but the coma looks being act briskly. The thin ion tail stretched in northwest direction can be captured remarkably compared with that in previous observation. Its length can be estimated about 0.4 degrees from this image.
