On this day, the Comet Tsuchinshan 1 is positioned at the northwest edge of Virgo, approximately 4.5 degrees southeast of Denebola in Leo, with an observed coma brightness of 8th magnitude. Despite being slightly fainter than forecasted, it is currently approaching its maximum brightness. The apparent diameter of the coma is around 10 arc minutes, and a short tail is visible extending in WNW direction.
