This is comet 24P/Schaumasse one week after its perihelion passage. It was located in the eastern sky before dawn, about 9 degrees southwest of Arcturus in Bootes, and a bluish coma of about 9th magnitude was observed. The comet will remain favorably placed for observation for a while, but it is expected to fade rapidly once February 2026 begins.
