On this day, Comet 24P/Schaumasse was located in the eastern sky before dawn, near the border between the head of Serpens and Bootes, and a 10th-magnitude blue coma was observed. From here on the comet is expected to fade rapidly, but its large, diffuse coma can still be observed clearly.
