The bright star seen at the top of the frame is Procyon in Canis Minor, and this image covers an area of 12.7×8.6°. This region lies east of the winter Milky Way, and extremely faint molecular clouds without catalog IDs are present here. The molecular cloud stretching across the center of the image extends about 8° from east to west. The small red nebula visible at the left edge of the frame is the planetary nebula Abell 24 in Canis Minor.
