NGC6638 is a compact globular cluster positioned at 40 arc minutes east of lambda Sgr. The cluster has a size of a bit larger than 7 arc minutes and a brightness of 9th magnitude. Although the cluster is not a major object in this star field, the constellation of Sagittarius has includes the center of Galaxy, uncountable globular clusters have distributed in it.
