NGC4747 is a dimmed peculiar galaxy lying in northern Coma Berenices at 22 arc minutes-northeast of NGC4725, a larger 10th magnitude-spiral shown at lower right hand side of the image.
The peculiar galaxy has a long axis of 3.7 arc minutes and a brightness of 13th class magnitude, and evolved stream-structures stretched mainly in northeast direction.
A span can be estimated as about 12 arc minutes including the structures.
It's considered that NGC4747 is one of companion galaxies of NGC4725, and the spiral structures have been distorted with the gravitational interaction.
