It is a pair of spiral galaxies arranged at intervals of 30 arc minutes in the north-south direction.
They located approximately 4.5 degrees NNW of γVir (Porrima), around the southern edge of the Virgo Cluster.
The northern galaxy, NGC4527, has an elliptical shape with a major axis of about 7 arc minutes and a brightness of 10th magnitude.
It lacks a clear spiral structure, and complex dark bands surround its central bulge.
The southern galaxy, NGC4536, has a slightly larger major axis of about 7 arc minutes and is a faint galaxy with a brightness of 11th magnitude.
Two arms can be observed, seemingly stretched out. Morphologically, it is classified as an intermediate between spiral and barred galaxy.
Although it is sufficiently large, its low surface brightness makes it quite challenging to perceive its shape visually as seen in this image.
