NGC4096 is a medium-scaled spiral galaxy lying at 3.4 degrees east of chi UMa. We can appreciate a lump of elliptical light through telescopes because the galaxy has a comparatively bright with 11th magnitude and a north-south length of over 7 arc minutes. This image shows you that the galaxy has an asymmetric shape with its central bulge positioned at a bit northern side. The galaxy is belonging to a galaxy group distributed in the Canes Venatici, lying at 25 million light years away.
