This is a small planetary nebula located at the southeastern edge of the constellation Pyxis, about 7.4 degrees east of the βPyx.
It has a major axis of approximately 1.5 arcminutes and exhibits a bipolar structure extending east to west.
The nebula is located about 10,000 light-years from the solar system, and its actual size is slightly over 3 light-years.
The open cluster that appears to overlap with the planetary nebula is NGC2818A.
It spans about 9 arcminutes and consists of roughly 40 stars.
Since NGC2818 has a different radial velocity, the two objects are considered to be unrelated and only appear to lie in the same direction by chance.
