NGC2149 is a small reflection nebula located in the southwest corner of Monoceros. You can find it approximately 4 degrees due east of κ Orionis (Saiph). Although its size is only about 3 arc minutes, it represents a portion of the surrounding molecular cloud reflecting the light of the stars. It is noticeable that there is an incision by a dark nebula on the western side of the nebula. Its distance from the solar system is approximately 1300 light-years, with the actual size of the nebula being 1 light-year.
