A spiral galaxy with a long axis of about 10 arc minutes in eastern Fornax has a number of NGC1316. And a small companion galaxy just north of NGC1316 is NGC1317. These galaxies are members in the Fornax Cluster distributed between Fornax And Eridanus, and are ones of largest and easiest to observe with amateur scopes. But NGC1316 has been positioned in southwest edge of the Cluster.
