This image shows you two medium-scaled galaxies lying between Perseus and Andromeda.
NGC1023 in left hand side is a spiral galaxy with a long axis of about 10 arc minutes. You can find out the galaxy just 3.5 degrees south of an open cluster of M34. The galaxy has an apparent shape of ellipse elongated in east west direction, and has a bright nucleus and surrounding dimmed light. A dimmed companion galaxy of NGC1023A can be found just east of NGC1023
Another galaxy in 50 arc minutes west of NGC1023 has an ID of IC239. The galaxy is a face-on typed spiral with a diameter of about 5 arc minutes, the image shows an indistinct spiral structures.
