M104 (NGC4594) can be found out in the south sky in spring, near the boundary between Virgo and Corvus. The name "Sombrero Nebula" comes from, you can understand easily, its shape that resembles a Mexican hat. A dark lane that crosses the center can be seen through medium sized scopes, I think it's one of interesting galaxies to appreciate.
Distance is estimated about 30 million light years, and it has a diameter of 75 thousand light years. And additionally, the galaxy is well-known as one of the brightest radio galaxies in the heavens. If you have radio-detectable eyes, M104 will be seen equivalent to about 6th magnitude.
