This is a small planetary nebula located about 3.7 degrees WSW of β Cassiopeiae, the star marking the western end of Cassiopeia's W-shaped asterism. It has a circular appearance with an apparent diameter of about 1.5 arcminutes, dominated by red Hα emission. The central star is of 15th magnitude, and the distance is estimated at around 6500 light-years. This corresponds to a real diameter of about 3 light-years, indicating that it is a highly evolved, old planetary nebula.
