This image captures a faint planetary nebula hidden in the central region of the constellation Cancer. It is located 35 arcminutes southeast of δ Cancri, with an apparent diameter of 1.8 arcminutes and a brightness of 15th class-magnitude. The central star has a brightness of 13th magnitude.
Abell 30 is one of the "born-again planetary nebulae," where the central star, after initially ejecting gas to form the planetary nebula, has become active again, releasing new gas in the inner shell region.
