Comet 2012S1 ISON on early morning of Oct 13, 2013

Composed 6 shots with 3min. exposed
Optical: TAKAHASHI 12.5cm(4.9") Fluorite refractor with a conversion lens (f=620mm, F5.0)
Auto-guided with VIXEN ATLUX Equatorial & Meade Pictor 201XT
Digital Camera: Canon EOS 550D (Remodeled)
Location: Ooizumi, Hokuto city, Yamanashi pref.

Camera Settings: Recording format...14bit CCD-RAW, converted to 16bit TIFF(5184×3456)
Sensitivity...ISO1600



The comet ISON in that day could be observed in lower eastern dawn skies, about 1.3 degrees north of the Mars in western part of Leo. The day was my first observation without moonlight, the image can show you a 10th magntude coma covered with greenish ionized composition and a clear dust tail stretched toward northwest with a length of about 15 arc minutes.
  The image has been cropped with an equivalent f=1500mm. (View angle: 0.9×0.6°)
