In that day, I could appreciate a beautiful view of the comet Hale-Bopp setting beyond the mountain ridgeline of Mt. Yatsugatake at central Japan. This set of three images show the change for seven minutes.
The black shadow is a main peak of Mt Agadake (2898m of elevation). The comet had set in western skies passing just near a summit hut at the mountain. After the coma disappeared, I could see a long dust tail stretched from the mountain seeming search-light.
