On this day, Comet 62P Tsuchinshan 1 was located in the western part of the constellation Leo, approximately 1.3 degrees ENE of η Leonis. A diffuse coma with a blue tint, shining at 8th magnitude, was observed. A very faint tail extended towards the west. The comet is expected to continue its eastward trajectory, and forecasts indicate that it will brighten up to a maximum brightness of 7th magnitude between January and February 2024.
