This image captures the changes in comet 2025K1 ATLAS over a 48-hour period. In the central region of Ursa Major, it was moving at high speed-about 9 degrees in two days-heading NNW on the western side of the Big Dipper. Although the comet's coma had peaked and was around 10th magnitude, observations in mid-Nov 2025 revealed that the nucleus of the comet had split into several fragments. The image is blurred due to the comet's motion during the exposure, but the brightness around the nucleus is clearly uneven.
View angle: 0.70×0.35°
