On this day in 2023, Comet 2023 E1 Atlas was located near the zenith in the eastern part of the Cygnus just before midnight. A tailless 10th magnitude bluish-green coma was observed. The estimated apparent diameter of the coma as seen from this image was about 15 arcminutes and had grown larger since last month's imaging. The comet will continue its rapid going south through the autumn constellations, gradually decreasing in brightness.
