This image is the comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS captured during a clear spell in the rainy season. It was located about 3 degrees south of σLeo, which corresponds to the end of the hind leg of the constellation, in the low western sky after twilight. The brightness of the comet's coma was 9th class magnitude on this day, with a distinct dust tail stretching about 20 arcminutes to the east. The comet will no longer be visible from Japan by July 2024, and will reappear in October after passing perihelion.
