with BaaderPlanetarium Moon&Skyglow filter
Auto-guided with TAKAHASHI EM-200 Equatorial
Digital Camera: Canon EOS 600D (Remodeled)
Location: Hiraiso, Hitachi-naka city, Ibaraki pref.

Camera Settings: Recording format...14bit CCD-RAW, converted to 16bit TIFF(5184×3456)
Sensitivity...ISO3200


This image shows you the comet 2014Q2 Lovejoy getting brighter and brighter drastically and going up north. The comet in that day has positioned at 3.5 degrees northeast of nu Puppis in lower southeast midnight skies. The coma already has a brightness of about 6th magnitude, I could catch it easily only with an small finder scope. Although the comet has no clear tails, the coma has a diameter of over 8 arc minutes. The elevation of the comet will be higher and higher from now on, we will be able to appreciate the newcomer in winter constellations with fairly good observing condition.
