This page shows you the comet 2013R1 Lovejoy being a naked-eye comet. In that day the comet has positioned around the head of Leo, about 3.5 degrees north of mu Leonis. It's considered that the comet has a visual brightness of about 4th magnitude, moreover we can observe it in higher skies in early morning, I could detect the comet as a dimmed light with my naked eyes. And the second image shows the comet has a dimmed ion tail stretched toward west with its length of over 3 degrees.
