Approaching the sun, this was the last observed appearance of comet Pons-Brooks. It was positioned the southern part of Aries, between the 1.6-aged waxing moon and the Jupiter. Due to the lingering twilight during the capture, the detailed structure of its faint tail was not discernible, but its prominent 4th magnitude coma could clearly be seen with binoculars.
This image has been cropped with an equivalent focal length 500mm.
