On this day, comet Pons-Brooks was positioned approximately 3.6 degrees east of delta Andromedae. Despite the shining condition of the waxing gibbous moon, it was possible to clearly observe the comet's coma with binoculars in the northwestern low sky in the evening. The brightness of the coma was at 5th magnitude, and it exhibited a complex ion tail extending towards the north. The estimated length from the photograph is over 1.6 degrees.
