The "Great triangle in summer" is a huge triangle being a good mark to explorer in summer night skies. The triangle consists of Altair in Aquila, Vega in Lyra, and Deneb in Cygnus.
The triangle has the meridian transit around the zenith at many countries in Northern Hemisphere, so we can see this asterism fairly long period in a year. We can see it at dawn east sky in February, and still appreciate going down to evening western horizon in December.
