I took this picture in lower southern skies influenced with city lights. An orange-colored trail is the Canopus, alpha Carinae. Canopus is the second brightest star in heavens next to Sirius in Canis Major. However, we see it only just above the southern horizon at northern mid-latitude; the color is reddish due to the influence of atmosphere as with the red-colored setting sun.
