A small reflection nebula of vdB1 with a size of about 5 arc minutes positions at 26 arc minutes southeast of β Cassiopeiae (Caph). The glare in upper right-hand side of this picture is the apparent ghost of the star. Three 8th magnitude stars are overlapped the nebula; it's considered that vdB1 is reflecting the light from them.
You can see a whitish small nebula at about 7 arc minutes northeast of vdB1. The object has been known as one of Herbig-Haro (HH) objects which have gaseous jets ejected from deeply embedded young stars. The nebula has been registered as HH161.
